 ''Don't tell me you are thinking what I am thinking.'' Ben was astonished.

''Yes it is what you are thinking and if we are right I believe we have the culprit in our hands.'' Jenny got up and came closer to the window where he was standing.

''I thought you didn't hear what she said about you. I am sorry for that.'' Ben looked at her.

''You don't have to be sorry for anything. In fact I'm glad what she said. The way you defended my respect was more valuable than that humiliation. '' she looked at him directly, in his eyes. There was so much emotion in his eyes. His eyes were different than ordinary eyes. His whole self would shine truly righteously in his eyes.

''You know something. You have taken so much after your mother. You are just like her. The rarest kind of true people.'' Jenny hugged him.

 

 

The weather was good. The sun was shining and the curtains were flowing as the wind came in through the windows. 

''I know nothing we are going. They all want to meet you and I don't see anything wrong in it you must.. we must go.'' Jenny sighed and waited for his reply.

''You know I thought you were different and now you are acting like a typical girlfriend.''

''Fiance wife to be if you would correct yourself.'' Jenny was not in a good mood today and it was all clear. ''Whatever.'' he was making coffee. ''You know something Ben, I've been putting a lot of effort in making things work and I would really appreciate if you contribute to it. Not much but al least give it a try.'' Jenny sat at the counter looking at him and he looked at her too.

''I am I .....don't know what kind of effort you want because right now my dearest friend is at the verge of death almost and you want me to keep apart from her if that is what you call a contribution than call me out.'' he poured the coffee in the mug and then came back to the lounge.

''Sometimes I think this will never work out I don't know why I am such an idiot trying to make it work.'' she whispered to herself and got up.

She was angry. After a while Ben regretted what he had said to her. Now the best apology would be to do as she had asked him to do.

Since Helena's death Jenny had helped him a lot and had made her solid place in his life. He could never ever leave her or mistreat her in any way. When she had broken up with him he was the one who approached her and not she.

''Okay. We'll go happy.'' he touched her knee.

Ben's friends from college were having a party and they invited Ben and his most famous Jenny who made him a one woman man after he had been the famous Casanova of the city  to their bash. It was friends mostly and Jenny was thinking how they have cut off themselves from the world while all they did was work and home or the least Rachel or Tina's homes.

''Okay.'' she smiled although she had committed a promise with herself as this would be her last attempt to fix or carry this one sided relationship.

 

                                                                     

 

It was Marylin and a man with her. Tina welcomed her she hugged her, she was changed. She had trimmed her hair and changed their color from blonde to brown. She looked different. Happy and satisfied. Who could guess that the woman who almost killed herself in the love of her late husband would end up so competently. For the first time in her life she envied her. Not the envy of its kind a different envy. She was happy that she had settled down.

''I'm so sorry about what happened. He was so young and full of life my god what tragedy has befallen you.'' she sat down. ''This is my husband Robert.'' she introduced the tall man with brown eyes and hair to her. ''Hello.'' he said to Tina. ''Hello, please sit down. Would you like something?'' she called  Micheal. ''Well of course.'' Marylin said with delight.

In a while a trolley brought all the things they needed for a drink.

''Well I don't know how to say it but I will have to Micheal.'' she took a sip from the glass then she looked at Micheal and he took out a box from his pocket. It was a very small box wrapped in a red ribbon. It was certain that it was a ring. Tina didn't gave it any thought she only wanted to know what she had to do with it. The suspense was killing her.

''This was his mother's ring. His father kept it when she died, after that it became a family fortune and stayed with Taylor. A month ago he called me and gave it to me for restoration. He said he wanted the Irish three band style in it. He said you wanted a three band ring...''

Everything began to fade, Marylin began to unbox the ring. She was talking but Tina had gone deaf. All was inaudible. The room was filled with white light. A light so bright that it hurt the eye.

In front of her was Taylor. He was calm and attractive just as he was always. Everything of his was perfect. He himself was epitome of perfection. Only this time he had his hair lose and they flew upon his forehead with the wind that caressed it touched it. 

''I bought this just for you, you remember you wanted this when we were in Ireland?''

He came closer and sat on his knees kneeling in front of Tina whose eyes were wide open. 

''You don't take care of yourself do you?'' he tucked her lock behind her ear.

''This is not the Christina I married.'' he got up and began to walk away. He was disappearing.

''No wait please god don't go Taylorrrr!.'' she screamed and just then she got back to her senses.

Marylin and Robert were back and they were looking at her like she was mad. They were not at fault she really was mad.

''Christina! are you alright.'' Marylin shook her shoulder.

''Yeah, what were you saying..'' Tina tried to hold back her tears which had made a barrier in her throat suffocating her. She swallowed hard to be strong in front of Marylin.

''This is what he was going to take that night in that storm after which he never returned.'' Marylin handed her the box which she held in her hand but she had no interest in it. 

''Mommy.'' Liz came running to her.

''Wow my my we have a little angel here. Come here dear what's your name.'' Marylin held her and she sat with her.

''Who are you?'' Liz asked with curiosity. 

''I'm your aunt, your father's cousin.'' 

'' Did you see him tell him to come back home I don't like it without him.'' Marylin and Christina looked at each other for a moment then she whispered hugging the little Liz,

''I will sweet.'' 

 

''What exactly are we doing? this was supposed to be a business trip you turned it to a vacation.'' Tina was walking hand in hand with Taylor. ''In Ireland and in the hotel all time doesn't sounds like fun to me.''

The greens which was more greens and meadow like in Ireland. The weather which seemed always like it had been rained. Little busy towns of Ireland. It seemed as if all the people or at least most of the country's population liked farming. Cattle , farmers and pubs. If Tina had to describe Ireland in three words that would be it.

Over here they were walking on slight damp streets around which were small shops and stalls. Little boys were selling flowers to customers. Hotel's were serving dinners to their customers sitting outside and enjoying a great weather and pretty sights.

''Look at this.'' Tina stopped at a window of a jewellery shop. The mannequin had adorned itself with jewels and near her in a tiny box was a ring with three band sparkling with small diamonds on the first band, on the second was medium sized diamonds in a row and on the last were the same size as the first ones. 

''I want it.'' she said to Taylor who was not interested in it.

''Do you know it has three band which is a custom for something, three bands indicate engagement, marriage and motherhood. You've reached two , third still remains. First you must finish all three stages in order to wear it.'' he lectured it beautifully.

''Very interesting mister boring. I can wear it anyway if you don't like it then you don't have to brag about it.'' she took big steps and came ahead of him.

Tina was angry and Taylor was smiling. 

''You look adorable walking like that.'' he yelled at her back.

 

''You remembered everything, I forgot that it happened but you remembered.'' she opened the box and the same ring that she had wanted one day was in front of her. This one had only one big diamond the size of a coin in its middle band. The rest had normal sized rows of diamonds.

She hated the ring. She opened her closet drawer and threw the ring box in it and closed the closet. She didn't even wanted to look at it. It haunted her. It made her crazy.

She lay down but she couldn't resist herself. Agony and emotional stress had reached their extreme. She got up went straight to the bar. She began drinking. One bottle was drained in five minutes. Then the other. Within two hours she had drank more than she could handle. She began hallucinating as if seeing Taylor everywhere.

 She was falling while walking. 

''Taylor where are you.'' she cried.

''Taylor take me with you I don't want to live.'' she then took out sleeping pills from her pocket.

She couldn't see anything everything was damn too blurry. Her head was swirling. 

''Taylor.'' she yelled. 

''Nothing can stop me now do you understand.'' she swallowed all the pills and fell on the floor. 

Little Liz had come running hearing her mother's scream. Tina had dismissed all the servants in the evening probably because she had this horrible idea of self destruction in her mind. Liz came near the fallen Tina.

                                                                           

 

It was the same discotheque. It was the same atmosphere. Throngs were dancing and the loud music was ear piercing. Drinks were flowing and Sam appeared amidst the crowd,

''My friend where have you been we were waiting for you.'' he hugged Ben.

''Hey Ben.'' Archie was with Sam. ''How are you all doing you still single or still with Gloria?'' Ben asked him. He and Gloria were always together. During there days of college he was with her. The whole time. ''Yes I am but yes I am single and I love every minute of it.'' 

''Yeah nothing can replace that feeling. Where is Jason?'' 

''He fell from the stage he is sitting there.'' Archie pointed to the crazy haired guy sitting on the stool of the bar waving to Ben.

''You guys are still the same.'' Ben said. Then he looked at Jenny and suddenly he remembered her , ''Guys this is Jenny my...'' ''Fiance.'' they both said together and took Jenny by the hand.

''How did you know?'' Ben was really surprised. ''Such things my friend spread out quickly like fire of the forests.'' Sam was taken by a girl for a dance. Archie was tapping his feet on the floor synchronizing with the beats of the track.  ''Come on guys dance have some fun, how is Tina?'' he forgot to ask about her. They all were there at Taylor's funeral but they never saw Tina after that.

''You know something I should bring her here I ....'' Ben was interrupted.  

''go then hurry bring her here she will feel better here.'' Jenny said and took Archie for  a dance.

Ben hurried started his car and went straight to Tina's.

The bell rang. No one opened the door. He then called Tina.

No reply. He had this strange feeling as if something was not right. 

''Liz Liz open the door. Tinaaaaa.'' he yelled. After no response for sometime he went backside. In sometime a little girl crying came near the glass door. Ben could see her. 

''I'm so glad to see you. Where is your mommy Liz?''

She cried and tried but she couldn't open the door. 

''Mommy has fallen on the floor and is not talking to me anymore.''

Ben didn't wait a second and broke the glass and the hoped in from the backside.

Tina was lying there on the floor with empty bottle of pills in her hand and many drained bottles of whiskey in front of her.

Ben quickly carried her and went straight to the car. He then came back and carried Liz and drove off. He was driving fast. He was angry yelling and cursing every car that came in the way.

''God Tina no one does that how could you do something like that?''

In matter of minutes he reached the hospital and began yelling.

''Someone help there's an emergency.'' 

She was pale, yellow and more like a lifeless body.

Little Liz was scared and glued to Ben. Jenny was calling him multiple times. He was about to call Rachel. In hurry to reach the hospital he had completely forgotten to call Rachel just then Jenny called again.

''What is the problem with you Jenny? I'm in hospital. Tina tried to kill herself now leave me alone for a minute will you.'' he yelled at her and then began calling Rachel.

Rachel was there as quickly as she could she quickly picked Liz up. 

''My goodness.'' she was restless crying. 

''When did this happen?''

''I have no idea. I had this feeling that she would definitely try to do something like this for sure. It was not a good idea to let her live alone in that big house. What must have gone on Liz's heart? Who can tell.'' he looked stressed, and dying to hear from the doctors.

''What has come upon my family.'' Rachel cried again. Held little Liz closely.
