Ben had just came to his building. The skyscraper was standing alone of its kind in the lane. Ben came inside and heard a woman's loud voice. The receptionist was trying to cool down the woman but she was extremely loud. Ben was tired and all he wanted was a good nights sleep. He had loosened his tie and had his coat hanging on his shoulder. Ben pressed the elevator button and was waiting for the elevator to open.

''Sir this lady here is having some issues.'' The receptionist called Ben.

''This is not my job. Its yours.'' Ben was cursing the elevator for taking so long.

''I will make you pay for this. Now don't blame me if I damage your pretty building now.'' The woman was angry and still loud.

Then she was too standing behind Ben waiting for the elevator.

The elevator opened and the people inside came out and Ben and the woman got in.

Ben did not even bothered to look at her. Then Ben pressed the last button on the panel. The woman tried to interrupt him bringing her hand closer to the panel but Ben did not bothered and selected his floor button. He was in a hurry to just go to bed. Dinner he already had in the office. As he was determined to quit  his drinking habit. Or maybe just reduce it to some decent extend. The lift was quiet with only the two of them. Then Ben had reached his floor and the woman pressed her floor button number and with a dang the elevator shut behind him. Ben unlocked his door and turned on his answering machine. It was filled with messages but the two most important ones were from Rachel and Tina.

Tina from noon,

''Ben I am heading home for lunch come over and we'll talk.''

Rachel from 21,

''Hello Ben, how are you, I am out of town as you know and I have not seen you with Tina or Taylor , I was just wondering. Call me when possible. Bye and take care of yourself.''

Ben shared a special motherly relation with Rachel. Rachel had known the five year old motherless boy and had taken care of him since then. After her commitment to his mother she had always been a mother to him. She treated him like her own son. Ben also referred to her as the mother figure he never had. Dylan was a nice man but a father can never be a mother.

Ben was too tired too change he just jumped on the bed and in a matter of minutes he was asleep.

Tina woke up and found the place next to her empty. Taylor had gotten up early than her. She looked at the clock and it was six in the morning. She got up and went to the bathroom. Freshened up and changed to normal clothes. She was fond of regular morning walks and she had skipped it the other day and there was no way she had to skip it today. There was a lot of time to go to office then she came downstairs and saw Taylor working in the kitchen.

''Feeling at home huh?'' Tina said to him and came closer and kissed him good morning.

''Good morning to you too.'' Taylor had made for them both breakfast.

''Why did you bothered. I should have made you breakfast.'' Tina said to him.

''I've enjoyed cooking in your kitchen.'' Taylor then noticed she was planning on going to walk.

''You going for a walk?'' Taylor asked her.

''Yes, you can join me after that you have to be cruel to me for the rest of the day until late evening.'' she said tying her laces.

''I would have, I was planning to go on one too so I went and came back then cooked breakfast.'' Taylor came out of the kitchen and told her.

''Pretty smart. I'll be back in twenty minutes.'' she the went outside and started running.

When she came back she saw Taylor dressed and ready to leave.

Tina waited for a minute to catch a breath.

''You are going that early?'' Tina removed her shoes.

''The boss has to work more then the employees in order to be the boss.'' he was wearing his watch.

''You can come at your time and I have to go. Bye my dearest Christina. Any news of Ben?''

''No. I think I am ignoring him. The fact that you came into my life and made me forget everything. I am supposed to take care of him, now that mom's away I don't know how to but I must.''

''You have not ignored him rather you have given him space. You both are responsible grown up man and woman. Though you may be best friends but everyone needs their little space.'' he kissed him and then went to his car. Tina closed the door and went to take shower and then she got dressed and came to eat breakfast. Karen had come too by that time.

''Hello Tina, today you cooked breakfast by yourself?'' Karen asked looking at the served breakfast.

''Taylor cooked it. He was in a hurry so am I.'' Tina then sat down and ate the breakfast. It was delicious. His man was multi talents.

Tina was coming inside Park.inc when she saw many people gathered outside Taylor's cabin and there was something unusual going on. She then saw Taylor speaking angrily and his voice was loud. There was his secretary ''Miss Adriane  and the chick '' Miss Reed'' to whom Taylor was speaking.

''You take your filthy self out of my office. You both don't deserve to work in my place. Get out and I never want to see your faces again. Blood hypocrites.'' he threw upon them some papers. Then Taylor went inside and the rest of the staff quickly went back to their seats. The secretary and the chick passed by Tina giving her the look as if they were the predators on hunt and she was their prey.

Tina went inside Taylor's office and saw him sitting.

''What happened? Everything alright?''

Taylor was still in a bad mood but his expression changed when he looked at Christina.

Christina approached him and again asked cupping his face in her hands,

''Tell me what happened?'' she said in a simple way.

''If she weren't a woman I would have ripped her tongue out.'' Taylor said in an angry voice.

''She was trying to seduce me that bloody....'' he tried to hold his anger. Then again he continued.

''This world is so bad and you are so innocent Christina.'' Taylor placed his hand over her cheek.

She filled a glass of water for him. Then she handed it over to him.

''That little piece of shit was planning this all. My secretary. This woman was his girlfriend, they were planning to intrigue me.'' Taylor said it all.

''That's it.'' Tina was standing in front of him folding her arms on her stomach.

''Yes.'' Taylor was now drinking water.

''Listen, they know that could never happen, specially the moment they saw me come in. They were aware of me being with you this is why they created this mess. They thought you might kick me out instead you kicked them out.'' Tina was saying.

''What you did today have earned you my special esteem.'' Tina said with a smile.

''I have a bad news for you.'' Taylor said to her.

''You are now my secretary.'' Taylor said to her with a funny face.

''What about my previous job?'' Tina was surprised.

''There was no such position. I made it up just to keep you close.'' Taylor again said that with a funny face.

''You are really a devil.'' Tina came closer to him and kissed him.

 

Life was drastically changing for Christina. Experiencing life without her mother at home was dreadful. Ben was unreachable again and she had no idea what to do.

Ben woke up with a sound of his door bell. In addition to this it was a bang on the door. Multiple bangs. He got up and opened the door. It was a woman. 

''Are you Brown?'' the woman was in a hurry.

''What do you want?'' Ben was yawning.

''Listen I asked the receptionist last night about you but you did not seem interested. Take this and contact me when you are free.'' the woman handed him a card and left.

Ben took a closer look at the card and it said ,'' Jennifer Hudson. Real Estate advisor.''. Ben threw the card in the bin and went to the bathroom.

When Ben came out he was fully dressed and ready to leave for the office. 

He took his car keys and apartment keys and shut the door and came outside. He stopped at the receptionist's desk and asked about this ''Jennifer'' and all the hell's matter with her.

''Sir, she came last night, the one who was screaming, asked about you and when I called you, you didn't answer. It is her apartment that she wants to sell but does not have an authorized document to do so.'' the man said.

''Okay. Next time she comes and talks about this matter or screams in this place. Either you call me or send her to my office.'' Ben said.

''Very well Sir.'' the man said and Taylor went away.

Tina was sitting in her new office right side to Taylor's office. She received a parcel that had Taylor's name on it and the sender's name was Benjamin Brown. Tina was desperate to look inside but she held herself and took the parcel and some papers inside Taylor's office as they needed Taylor's signature.

''Come in.'' Taylor said when she knocked his door.

''These need your signatures I have read them and this is from Ben.'' Tina handed him the parcel.

''What can it be?'' Taylor opened it and inside was a huge sum of money with a note, 'Thank you for your help here is what you paid for my fine. Ben'' Taylor read the note loud so Christina could hear him.

''Ben is like this.'' Tina said and took the documents back.

 

Ben called Rachel. Rachel received his call.

''Hello Rachel, how are you. I got your message yesterday. I couldn't call you I was busy at work. When are you coming back. I'm missing you.'' Ben said to her.

''Well I'll be home in a couple of days and I miss you too. You and Tina had a fight?'' Rachel had sensed something unusual. 

''No its just I was busy and she was busy. We cannot be around forever.'' Ben said.

''I think I know now. Has she been with Taylor all the time? I always feared this time I'll be back as soon as I can. Okay. Take care of yourself.'' Rachel ended the call.

Ben was leaving his office when he saw the same screaming woman standing in front of his door.

Then she started coming towards him.

''Listen Brown, I gave you my card why didn't you call me?'' Jennifer said.

Ben looked around. The office was less occupied but even then he made way for her to come inside so she doesn't starts screaming again.

She walked inside.

Then she sat on one of the chairs. Jennifer had a medium height. Her age was just the same as Ben. She was a complete brunette. Her hair were tied in a pony tail. Her eyes were dark brown. Her eyes were very big. She was wearing a jeans with a collar shirt. It was clearly visible she had been working very hard from her face as traces of exhaustion were visible.

''Yes, I've heard that you want to sell your apartment but do not have the required documents for this process.'' Ben said coming to his desk and opening one of its drawer.

''I have the document but the property is not registered on my name.'' Jennifer said.

''May I see that document?'' Ben looked at her.

She took out a file from her bag and handed it over to Ben.

Ben took the file and begin to browse the pages. Then he handed the file back to Jennifer.

''You will need the signed permission of the owner. Without it I'm afraid I cannot process your request.'' Ben said and walked towards the door.

''So you cannot help me in this, however you yourself own the apartments.'' Jennifer stood up to leave.

''I have to get somewhere early, maybe you can have some valid documents available tomorrow or whenever it suits you, then you can come here and I myself will get your work done in an hour.'' Ben said and closed the door behind. Both of them were walking towards the exit.

When both of them got out of the office Jennifer went her way and Ben went towards his car in the parking.

Tonight Ben was present at Tina's home too. Taylor wanted to go home but Tina insisted that he have dinner with them and then go. He agreed.

''Ben you really did not have to return me the money.'' Taylor said after finishing dinner.

''I cannot take that much money from you Taylor when I have.'' Ben said taking another bite.

''It's okay no debts.'' Tina was cleaning the dishes.

''Good night Christina.'' Taylor said and went to the door.

''Wait.'' Tina said to Taylor and then she talked to Ben,'' Ben, I'll be back.'' 

Ben nodded he was completely lost in his food and television. Tina followed Taylor to the door.

''I want to spend some time with Ben. Mom called me today and you know you both are dear to me. Tomorrow I'll stay over at your place.'' she kissed him.

''If every one day of your Ben counseling will result in this favor then do it everyday.'' he laughed.

Ben heard the door close. Both of them were walking towards the road then Taylor stopped and so did Tina.

''You should've stayed the night Tomorrow maybe I can redo this.'' Tina held his hand.

''Its hard but I must go home tonight Christina. Although you are very addictive.'' Taylor came closer and kissed her. Then he kissed on her forehead and hugged her.

''You both should spend some time together too. Otherwise Ben would think I've stolen her best friend.'' Taylor said and then walked towards his home.

Tina stayed for some while until Taylor disappeared in his house.

 

Tina came inside and Ben was still eating. One of his eye was on television the other on food.

''Ben when was the last time you ate?'' Tina wanted to clean the table but because of him it was getting late.

''To be honest I haven't eaten such dinner since three days.'' Ben was back with his humor.

 ''Finish dinner.'' Tina scolded him.

 ''Are you okay tell me about your life, your work.''

''What about my life, I am sober now drinking all done and over with silly women.''

''Really.'' she said smiling after washing the last plate.

''Honestly Tins, do you think I am that bad.'' he dried the plate and placed it in the cabinet.

Ben stayed and slept in the guest room. He had eaten so much his stomach was aching. Tina suggested he sleep here tonight.

After helping Ben to the bedroom she came to her room upstairs however she was feeling the empty space with Taylor not beside her. She was missing her mother too.
