 Chapter thirty three:

Next Chapter

Previous Chapter

''I talked to him and that's what he said to me, I couldn't believe my ears what he said.'' Victor who was standing in the middle of the highway between thickets and trees said to the shocked Carla. Carla said nothing and her face was expressionless.
''You son of a ___.. you really think he will get you out of this mess that easily after all that you have done to him and the girl he's so mad about that he,  his face was so damn swollen when she married someone else and now when you killed his love's husband do you think he'll leave you that easily? I know him more than you do. He was only 5 years from that moment till date he had been crazy about her and he was hunting you from that day when Taylor died. God save you for what you have done but then I realize you never really had a heart. If you had we would have had a son of his age by now but I was ill fated the day I was born.'' she turned around.
After moments of silence Victor began, ''I would have never given you any of this.'' he pointed towards her diamonds that were adorning her neck and ears.
''You never know what I wanted, these can never replace a heart. These are desires Victor,  desires thirst is never quenched. I would have been happy without all of these with you if only you had really the courage for what it takes to be a man.''
''I have said what I have said. I cannot undo all that is done but I can be by your side if you still want to make things right. It's never too late. Three days from now same time here I'll wait for you.'' he moved towards his car and drove away.

''With Taylor around everything was perfect. He was perfect in every way in every aspect. The perfect husband, the perfect friend, the perfect father. You won't believe me, at times when I had just gave birth I would sleep too deep. At nights he would take care of our daughter and I would sleep unaware. I believe he has made me what I am today. A shitty person who can not take care of anything. I'm also afraid I might ruin his empire for which his family sacrificed so much. I am afraid I would not be a good mother to his bloodline. My daughter is too precious to me. She is the only essence I have of Taylor. She even looks a lot like him. When she smiles her teeth resemble him and the way her eyes become smaller. I know you want to know why I did that what made me sit here and open my life to you. I have no idea what was on my mind that day. I think about it today and it feels so embarrassing but something happened that day which led me to that stupid suicide attempt. I met Marylin that day with her husband Robert. They seemed so happy and then she showed me what Taylor had gone to buy for me and because of what I lost him forever. It was a ring of Irish tradition and I hated it.'' she became hysterical.
''Its okay Christina we can have another session and this time the good news is that we'll have only three sessions a month. The next week you have an off. Now I want to give you some advice. Be happy and take care of yourself. You are such a strong young woman. Don't give up on things and leave the past behind.'' Doctor Andrews smiled.
''Hello.'' Ben came in.
The medium height doctor with grey hair who was barely in his early fifties greeted Ben warmly.
''Ben Christina has progressed significantly. It's been six months but she's opened up about so many things, She is completely fine and she does not require any more medication. Just three more appointments and then I'll state her as a new Christina. She can now enjoy as much as she wants. No need to worry.'' Andrews smiled.
''Thank you doc, looking forward to our next appointment.'' Ben said with a smile.
''Until next time doctor.'' Tina shook his hand.
They both were sitting in their favorite cafe. This was the same place when they graduated and said farewell to past life, the same place where she met Taylor for the first time. The same place the four of them ate together. Right at this place Tina and Ben had the times of their life. The place was the same, the people were the same but time is not the same. In front of Ben sat a woman who was a mother a widow and looked twice her age due to the stress he had given her. He missed the beauty of hers that would make even his darkest of days bright with just a smile. Her smile when she would laugh with heart shone like diamonds, her smile when she would be mischievous shone like the sun rays on a dark winter day when there would be no chance of sunshine. Her smile when she would pretend would be an invite to joy. But now everything had drained. Her hair which used to flow with her dance, her eyes that widened on the song's tune. Even in her devastated look she was what she was, unparalleled beauty. For whose smile he could tear up his heart.
Tina saw in front of him a man whose girlfriend ran away throwing her engagement ring on his face confessing something that ruined her and his best friends life. There were only two men who mattered to her most, first was her father and then him. After his father was gone the place was taken by Taylor but Ben always remained with her. She loved him and would do anything for him but the other type she never saw in him. His handsome face was the face of her best friend not her lover until she only discovered that that was less of a friend and more of a lover or both. Damn she was confused, confused with her life and what to do about it. She couldn't do with Ben she couldn't do without Ben. The only thought that if she abandoned him and if he gets back to his previous life gave her the horrors.
''Where's Liz?'' he began
''She's at home with mom.'' she began to look around.
''What exactly  you think will become all of this, all of us. What happened to us?'' Tina looked at him as he finished saying.
She remained silent for a moment and then looked at him as if he was a stranger.
''What should become is not the question the real question is why did you bring me here when there is really nothing left to talk about. I'm worried about Jenny. I called her but she didn't answer I think she is really mad at me and she has the right to, after all I broke off everything.'' she sounded hysterical but fought her tears back like a strong person which she was trying to be in front of the one who knew her more than she could think, that much that he knew exactly that she was about to cry. He handed her a tissue which she took.
''It's not your fault Tina. I know where she is and whom she is with. She's fine. Don't worry about her or anything else you should only worry about yourself. You need to think about your life. Seriously.''he tried to touch her hand but she moved it.
''I know what you are trying to say but this cannot never at any cost happen. You are my friend and you'll always remain one nothing more.'' she got up and left.
Ben received a call ,
''Yes very well. Take care of yourself and everything else and one thing more I owe you this one.''
He got up and left too.
To bring Tina in to understanding the situation was seeming impossible. He came to Rachel.
''I've discussed it with her I tried to bring it up a million times but she is not ready and maybe she'll never be.'' he sighed and sat down.
''Thanks nanah.'' he thanked her as she brought refreshments.
''Time will change her too just give her sometime meanwhile you must be her friend. Don't let her lose trust on you otherwise she'll never see you again.'' Rachel adjusted the straw.
''I have an idea if you folks listen.'' nanah appeared from behind.
''Yes we're listening nanah.''
She came near and began, ''When she was sad after her daddy's passing ma'am took her away on a trip and it helped why don't you do the same. Ma'am can come with you so she will come too but if you go alone with her then she might not come.''
Rachel applauded her idea. ''That's terrific nanah you really are a genius aren't you.''
The next day Rachel went to Tina's and began the play,
''I'm so lonely. I only have one granddaughter and she also doesn't comes to my home or goes on a vacation with me. Everyone goes on vacation with their families but my daughter doesn't care about me at all. Sometimes I think I am to alone without Ray. If he would have been here he would have taken me on a trip around the world. But it's not your fault Tina, you yourself never go anywhere except work and home than who am I to blame you. You only had few friends and they too have no contact with it's you who need a vacation more than me.''
She looked at her with a bad made up face of which it was clear that she was up to something. But Tina didn't have the mind to tell between acting and reality.
''Mom I'll come with you wherever you want to go but just give me two days. I have to wrap up some important work and I'll handover the work to someone responsible while I am gone and you can make the arrangements in the meanwhile.'' she got up and began calling someone.
Rachel had done it.

Sam and Jenny were happy together. They spent the whole month together. Jenny couldn't believe it had been a month since she moved here from L.A. She liked Sam but she wasn't sure about him the way he was sure about Ben. Being with him for two years she never for one day doubted the love that she had for him, but then again what did that love gave her? Empty pockets , homeless and in alien lands. Love always remain unrequited seldom is it requited. She knew it she had read about it but now she was sure because she had experienced it. Everything was greatly jolly with Sam. He never left her alone. Because of him it seemed as if she left her home yesterday. Sometimes she would regret her cold behavior towards Tina but then she knew she had to carry this role on if she steps back in no matter how good her intentions be she'll make things worse for her. If her parents would've been alive and if they met Sam, they would approve of him in a instant. He was the exact type. Sam although had to go to work but he would keep it short. Just the same way he went to the business trip a month ago, in fact he was so much with her that she would only not see him when she would go to work. Sam on the other hand even wanted to resist her from work but he knew that honor was a problem for her a way big one he had no intention to hurt that problem or make it even a bigger one he only wanted this because he knew she needed a break. Sam now only wanted one thing and he hadn't told her yet. He wanted to marry her. Bring her back home. But he wasn't sure whether it was the right time or not.
One day he finally arranged the setup for such a talk.
The best rooftop restaurant, the best food, the best weather.
Whether one could say it was his luck or the odds favored him Jenny was in a great mood today.
She was glittering like a April's evening's sky in her orange floral laced gown. Her hair untied, with slight makeup that made her more glittering.
Sam on the other hand was astonished. Among the girls he had been with she was the most beautiful one.
''I wish I had the words to enunciate your charms.'' He slid a chair for her instead of the waiter, and asked him to stay back.
''That is so nice of you however I would appreciate your charms as well, You are a handsome man yourself any woman would feel lucky to be with you.'' she kissed him and he felt as if his heart would explode out from his chest.
