  Chapter Eleven:

 

The morning was calm and a breezy one . It was summer and the dawn's sky was clear as crystal. Tina had her alarm yelling. Although she snoozed it but then she got up in a shock. It was 4:30. Exactly right time. She jumped out of bed and picked a good outfit. Dressed up and took her things. Came downstairs and the house was empty. Rachel was still sleeping. She had a glass of juice and wrote a note for her mother that she was going to San Diego with Taylor for work and they will be back before dinner.

 

She came outside and started her car then she drove to Taylor's gate and started honking the horn. It was a minute when he appeared from behind the gate. It was dark but a little touch of blue light made it easier to sight. Taylor had his briefcase in his hand and came towards her car door and sat then the two of them went away.

 

Ben woke up and was terrified. He had a strange dream. A dream which made him sleepless. Then he drank water to get some relief. He then laid down again in order to ease himself but he could no longer sleep. He got up and made himself coffee and breakfast. Then he thought of going to the office.

When he reached his office everyone was shocked that he arrived that early. He took over Dylan's work for the day too. It was eight and Dylan came to the office. When he was told about the miracle from early morning he did not believe his ears. Then he went to Ben's cabin to witness the wonder. He then came back without letting Ben know that he had seen him. He was becoming a man of responsibilities and Dylan did not at any expense will be a distraction for him, neither will he let anyone become one. He quickly went back.

Ben although was worried. He was worried about it but he kept himself busy not to be involved with any of such thoughts. In fact he remembered it was Tina's birthday tomorrow and he must get himself done away with all the work and buy for her a present.

 

The Parisian house with all it's glitter is lit. Lit too bright. One moment her mother's humming his favorite lullaby the next she is screaming as all her house is on fire,

''Ben.'' she shouts.

''Benjamin.'' she yells. Calls her son and this was the time Ben woke up.

''You shouldn't have alarmed me that much, it was offending.'' Taylor said the moment he got in the car.

''I like punctuality Sir. If you are to be late then I would've left alone.''  Tina was joking and Taylor kissed her.

''I'm driving.'' Tina said.

''Drive I didn't stop you from driving.'' Taylor said. Then kissed her again.

''This is distraction. By the way you didn't tell me about this trip before.'' Tina looked at him for a second. Then again concentrated on the road.

''I was told about it yesterday then I was at your house it exited my mind.'' Taylor said. He was texting someone.

They reached the airport and Tina parked her car then took her bag.

 

Ben was thinking about what should he give Tina as a present. Then he finished his work and was leaving the office when Dylan noticed him going.

''Finished son?'' Dylan came closer to Ben.

''Yes Dad. I'm going for some shopping now.'' Ben told his father.

''Sure my boy enjoy yourself. You've earned it.'' Dylan was delighted.

 

He was doing his shopping when he went to jewellery shop and there was this long chain of silver with two strands and with an emerald in its pendent. The emerald was big. He bought the chain and two alphabets.  Then he instructed the shopkeeper to insert the two alphabets in the second strand. He did as Ben told him and then he wrapped the box of the chain. 

He had bought a good present. The two alphabets each of both their names looked charming in the second strand with  the emerald.

He took the things and went to Tina's home.

He saw people working in the garden. Rachel was guiding them to place the lights in this order.

He came and greeted Rachel. 

''Hello Ben, thank God you're here. Help me with the decorations will you. It was all Taylor's idea. He took Tina away till the evening until we are done with all this. I must call the bakery. Ben please tell them about the lights.'' Rachel went inside.

A slight jealousy sparked in Ben. It was as if everywhere Taylor had his clenches. Now Rachel too was talking about him. Tina was already struck by him in every way. This birthday event was to by his method. It was as if without him they could not even celebrate her birthday. He remembered those days when both of them used to enjoy themselves together at her birthday. He would bring his own boat and they would sail all night long and return home at dawn. Rachel had given them both permission to enjoy the special day of the year. Now it was all in the past.

''Where are we supposed to place these?'' a man asked Ben.

It took a moment for Ben to come out of the factor of jealousy that had struck him and he had been trying not be ruled by this power.

''Over there.'' Ben told him.

After an hour the lights were set on the walls of the house and on the shrubs and trees in the garden. Over the gate and entrance. They hanged from pole to pole covering the heads of who ever will enter. Over all it was a dazzling atmosphere. 

Rachel came to Ben,

''I'm going to buy presents and pick up the cake. Will you take care of everything here?'' Rachel did not want to give him any load as he already been working much.

''I'll manage you go on.'' he said and went inside with the crates a man was carrying.

 

Tina was inside the meeting that was not ending. All she wanted was to leave the hall at once and never to return. The Chinese guy was talking rubbish and Taylor was sitting there as if stoned. She whispered silently to him,

''Is this a meeting? I swear if you have every meeting like this I will quit.'' She then sat seriously.

''This is the most terrible one I've ever had.'' Taylor whispered to her.

 Finally evening descended and they got their rescue. The deal was worthy the boredom and then they took their flight and landed back to their hometown.

 

Rachel and Ben were dressed and all the arrangements were done. Now they awaited Tina and Ben. The lights were shining and making the house recognizable among all the houses in the neighborhood. A singer was singing live and the guests were coming one by one. they weren't many only few friends of Rachel and the neighborhood people. The musical notes were slowing in the air. Tina saw the lights from a far.

''Wait what is happening at my house?'' Tina glued her face to the wind screen to get a clearer view.

''Happy Birthday Christina.'' Taylor said and hugged her.

''You did this. hmm the boring meeting was just a distraction.'' Tina could not hide her joy. He took his face in his hands and kissed him.

''I want you to come over to my place so that we both can change our outfits.'' Taylor said and Tina parked her car outside Taylor's home.

Both of them walked inside. Taylor's butler greeted him and opened the door for him. Took his coat and things. Then he greeted Tina.

''Take Ma'am to her room.'' Taylor told the butler.

''Christina I'll change too. Although I picked something for you. I hope you like it.'' Taylor said and then rushed upstairs.

The butler took her to the other room downstairs and the closed the door. A red colored chiffon knee length dress was lying on the bed with the same colored heel sandals beside it. The dress was without sleeves and black lace all over the neck that was thick and hung down to the chest. It was a masterpiece creation. She wore the dress and shoes then she looked in the mirror that hung over the wall and was big enough to sight oneself from head to toe. She then went to the dressing table and there was a jewellery box there. She opened it and it was the same colored jewellery set with black stone necklace and earrings. She wore them and then she applied some makeup over her face. Which was too there. It was as if these things were arranged here by her. Everything was precisely her choice. She brushed her hair and did not tie them. They looked beautiful untied.

She walked out of the room and saw Taylor standing there waiting for her. He himself was wearing a suit of black and blue shirt with it. His hair were organized properly with the same way he applied gel as always. When he looked at Tina he was paused. 

She looked out of the world. 

''Hello beautiful.'' he said to her took her hand and kissed it.

''Wait. Somethings missing handsome.'' Tina said and then walked towards the vase on the table and took a rose from it. He placed it inside Taylor's coat's upper pocket.

''Perfect. Let's go.'' she said.

They both looked at each other with eyes full of love, smiled and then walked outside the house hand in hand.
