Tina
was looking at her with a strange face. She tried to resist her bad
temper. In front of her was sitting a blonde tall and attractive woman
who was the same age as Taylor. Definitely Christina was younger than
both of them. Taylor was standing behind Tina and Tina was having the
most awkward moment of her life. The one she never had and it was a bad
idea in the first place to have agreed to meet her. Marilyn had bandages
all around her head and on her arm. Her face was pale and bluish but
her beauty was not halted by it. Her injuries were true witness of the
bad accident she had and Taylor was right to take care of her. If she
kept feminine anger aside than she was really proud of Taylor. A man who
takes care of even the crazy persons will take care of almost everyone.
Such guys who look after everyone as such are so hard to find in these
days.
Taylor
was looking at Christina who was not saying anything and at Marilyn who
was stoned on the sofa. He tried to make the atmosphere easier for the
both of them by breaking the awkward silence between them,
''I'll get something to drink.'' He walked and then the sound of his footsteps faded.
Tina
cleared her throat and began to say but before she could proceed
Marilyn said looking directly in her eyes, ''Christina I am really
thankful to you for forgiving me for everything that I have done. Your
kindness towards me have mended the broken heart of mine. You know how
it is when you stay with one person all the time and be attracted
towards him. Its phenomenal I wanted to create obstacles for the both
of you, I would have harmed you in any way possible but Taylor had made
sure nothing happens to you. When I could not harm you and you both were
together despite all the efforts I had done I decided to kill
myself....'' she sighed and closed her eyes.
Tina
went closer to the sofa and sat beside her. She took her bandaged hand
and held it. ''Its fine. I understand how you must have felt. Its not
your fault, I would have felt the same if someone would have barged in
and taken my friend away. But there's one point I would have understood
at the beginning and would have made sure that the feeling was mutual.
If the feeling would have not been mutual I would have refrained from
doing any such things that would harm the person. What you did is bad
but what you said just now has made you clear of all the blames. ''
Taylor who had brought the tray was listening to Tina carefully and then he placed the tray in front of them both.
''Ladies if your chat is done may we have some refreshing drinks.'' Tina smiled and Marilyn too.
''Ah Thank you both of you after all that I have been through I will go back home.'' she said squeezing her bandaged hands.
''Why
you should stay here with us near us I don't want you to be alone.''
Tina looked at Taylor who realized that he had crossed his line.
''No I can't.''
''Yes you should. One doesn't leave their friends alone when they are celebrating.'' Tina said proudly.
''Sure.'' Marylin smiled.
Helena
took Jenny and Ben upstairs, where there were many bedrooms and the
alley was covered with thick floral wallpaper, accompanied by large
flower pots beside each door and numerous images surrounded the walls.
At the end was the lounge which had similar furniture like the one
downstairs. At the front of the lounge was a balcony.
''I
would give you both this room and you will have to stay here till you
are here in Paris of course.'' Helena said looking at the expressionless
face of Jenny and Ben.
Both of them began to say something of their own and their voices collided confusing Helena.
''One at a time. I can't understand you both.''
Jenny
hit Ben's foot hard and then began to say, ''We would love to but Ma'am
we have to catch a early flight tomorrow and the airport is near to the
hotel we are staying in but of course we can leave late then we
planned.'' she said grinning and Ben was praising her acting.
''I
like you a lot Jenny. My son has taken after me in peculiar companion
taste.'' Helena said and showed them everything till Ben noticed a young
child's picture on the wall.
''Mom
who is this?''. He knew how he used to look like in his childhood. His
childhood face was his same face now because his looks did not change at
all but this was not him he knew it.
Jenny
also came closer with popping curiosity. Helena said from behind
peeking outside the balcony, ''This is your sister Elayne.''
Jenny and Ben looked at each other and then at Helena.
''Ah, there you go, Tim's here and Elayne too.''
Jenny was helping Helena with the dinner and Tim was talking to Ben and Elayne was sitting with them.
''Elayne dear how was your day?'' Tim narrowed his eyes, they were waiting desperately for dinner.
''Yeah
dad, it was fine but you know what the evening is much better. I found
my brother and finally get to meet him.'' Elayne's piercing blue eyes
were glowing with espieglerie energy.
''I'm glad to have met my sister too.'' he curled her in a hug.
''Ah, they are cute together.'' Jenny tossed plates over the table.
''Yeah, although if I tell you the truth, I never thought I'd see the both of them together.''
Helena paused for a moment.
They had dinner a family dinner and quality family time together made Helena dewy eyed.
Jenny
was talking to Elayne, Tim was watching TV, Ben was walking outside.
Helena came from behind, sat beside him near the waterfall. The cupids
were dancing with joy as the water flew out of their snouts.
''I really like Jenny. She would be a great wife.'' Helena said looking at the troubled Ben.
''What's
the matter dear, I sense somethings going on back of your mind. What is
it that's troubling you?'' Helena brushed his hair with her fingers.
''Nothing
Mom its just,.... Jenny and I are not at all related in the way you are
thinking. I mean no never....I love someone else.'' Ben was looking
away. Taking care not to make any eye contact with her mother.
Eyes
are the quintessence of the body and the mirror to the soul. These two
can never lie. They always speak the truth and its the open book to the
heart.
''Hey, look directly in my eyes, if you love someone else then what's wrong with that. Marry her.''
''I can't she loves someone else and she's marrying that person.'' Ben's voice became low.
''This isn't fair. She must be blind to leave you and marry someone else.'' Helena was being a typical mother.
''No mom its not like that its..........complicated....I..'' he left his sentence in middle and sighed.
''What's
more complicated then this. You should have explained to her
everything. Not talking about it will make your heart heavy my son. If
you don't want to talk about it its fine, I won't insist but I want you
to relieve yourself from the burden that's keeping you aback. When you
were a child and I and your father used to go somewhere usually your
father's gatherings would take the entire night, When I would come back
home you would come running to me and tell me all the wrong things your
nanny did. You never used to keep secrets from me.'' The breeze was
getting cold. At this time of night it was really cold.
