 Chapter Twentieth:

Next Chapter

Previous Chapter

''You are such a jerk.'' Tina was sitting with her feet on the table and her arms crossed on her stomach. She was angry as hell. But she tried to hide it in an failed attempt.
''Now you are telling me to meet your girlfriend I know nothing about.'' she slammed the table with her palms and sat straight facing Ben who was sipping the juice standing in one corner. He was silent and blank. He knew her more than anyone else. He knew that after saying multiple rubbish things and talking about the reckless act of the past she would eventually give in.

There was once a time when they both were partying late and Ben was drunk and went out with some girl from the bar leaving Tina searching for him. The next day he was beaten and the day after it they both were again doing the same thing.. partying. As if nothing had happened. They both shared such a bond. In which every worse thing would eventually sort out on its own. Ben although had the noteworthy talent to bring the bad vibes out of Tina in no minute. Only he could do that. Sometimes when Rachel and Tina would get into a fight at those times Rachel would call Ben and leave the house to him. She would say, ''When she's normal call me till then she's all yours to handle.''

''You are mad at me because I didn't tell you about her. First she's not my girlfriend, Second we are working together on a project I hired her. I just posed a bad impression on her the other night. All I want now is to undo it. That's all. If you are not my friend then its completely fine. I'll go and tell her that you dumped me in the bin.'' he was acting smart just as usual.
''Wait. I'll meet her. But I want it to be special. I'll arrange a party or something with Taylor and then we can meet her. How's that?'' she rose from her place and stood right in front of Ben. The sun's light was shining on her face from the windows. Giving her beauty the light touch of radiance. Ben was looking at the glow that had appeared on her face.
''Whatever you say.'' he agreed.
''You will be shopping with me until you drop dead in return. How's that?'' Tina smirked.
''Agreed.'' he sighed. Because he knew what the hell of trouble he had gotten himself into.

The next day Tina arranged everything after getting free from work in the orchids. She could have gone outside but, when Ben said that he wanted Jenny to meet her meant at home. There were things they both understood about each other when nothing was said. This was the noteworthy act of Christina.
A small table was set right in the middle of the garden. The night's sky view was ideal for having dinner outside.
She had prepared most of the things herself as Karen hadn't come for some days since the accident. Rachel still hadn't come home.
She was covering herself in the shrug that she was wearing roaming in the greens waiting for Taylor and Ben.
She saw Taylor's car. He approached with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. He came closer kissed her and said, ''Here we are already and where are the two of them?''
''They'll be here any moment my dearest Taylor.'' she took the flowers and placed them inside the vase on the table.
''There's something unusual about your mood today.'' Taylor came closer and kissed her again.
''Yeah it is. I'm so happy that Ben has met a girl he thinks he can settle with.''
''Did he said that or its your own presumption?'' Taylor was now looking at what Tina had arranged on the table.
''He didn't say it but I have a feeling that this must be the right time for him.'' Tina saw Ben's car.
''They are here. Christina dear.'' they both were watching them.
Ben got off the car and a girl who's height was medium who had her hair opened dressed in a evening net gown of lavender color got off too and approached Tina.
''Hello Jenny.'' Christina hugged her.
Jenny was not ready for such a reaction but she responded efficiently.
''Hello Jenny.'' Taylor offered her his hand.
''Hello Taylor.'' she said with warm smile.
''You know me?'' Taylor was surprised.
''Of course I do, Ben has told me great deal about the both of you.'' They all were standing in a circle.
''Here Tins.'' Ben handed her a wrapped bottle of champagne.
''This describes our boy's mood tonight. Come on everyone lets sit.'' Tina brought them to the table.
''My congratulations to the happy couple that would tie the knot soon.'' Jenny said to Tina and Taylor who were sitting very close to each other. On the other hand Ben and Jenny were sitting.
''Thank you. Jenny. It is so delightful to have you here tonight. You are the first person that Ben was so eager for me to meet. He never was that serious about anyone before.'' Tina handed them the plates.
''Really? he never said anything to me like that ever.'' Jenny sighted Ben with shock.
''Tina is just exaggerating that's all. '' Ben was feeling awkward.
''He's shy. But honestly its great to have you here tonight Jenny.'' Taylor said.
After dinner they celebrated a little and later they came inside. Where Tina and Taylor went to kitchen to make coffee.
''You really are camouflage.'' Jenny said when they both were alone.
''Tina is excited she thinks we both are together. She really likes you. She has the right to because it's true, I never gave anyone the priority to meet her.'' he was serious.
''Here comes coffee.'' Taylor brought the tray.
''You guys are really troubling yourselves. We both would have made coffee instead.'' Jenny took the mug.
''There's no trouble at all tell me about Paris.'' Tina played some good music in the background then sat near Taylor.
''Well there was nothing new except Ben's bad behavior then he changed a little, It was fun though.'' Jenny was sensible enough not to disclose the meeting of Ben and his mother. She had sensed the sensitive nature of Ben about not talking about his secrets unless he himself does.
''Really. That's cool. Jenny you must come in the wedding.'' Taylor said.
''I will. Thank you all for your great hospitality.'' Jenny got up.
''I'll drop you.'' Ben got up too.
''You both look cute together.'' Tina hugged Jenny and Ben together.
''Bye Taylor.'' Jenny waved him and they were standing alone now.
''Let's go inside. It's cold outside.'' Tina said to Taylor.

Shopping was the thing Tina was crazy about. She had been shopping since morning and now it was evening. Everyone was busy and only two days were left in the wedding. The venue was being decorated and the house was filled with things it was harder to walk inside. Ben was so worn out. He had been working on the hotel project as he had promised Dylan and Jenny was a relief at work but he was still giving the project a great deal of time. This project would take their work to a different dimension and Browns would be the notables.
Jenny had moved in the apartment. Ben was happy with her being around. He too was unaware why he was feeling like that. He liked Jenny. In slighter time she had made her place everywhere.
In the office in the house in their family and a little portion in Ben's life.
''Tina enough. Let's go.'' Ben said finally.
''This one's the last one.'' Tina was done.
Ben who was about to fall with the bags in his hand managed to reach the car with extreme grueling effort.
''Thank God we are done.'' Ben said and came straight home as fast as he could before Tina changed her mind again.

''There they are. '' Karen announced their coming.
''Mom I'm so tired.'' Tina sat on the sofa lying her head at the back.
Taylor called her and she went upstairs.
Ben was famished and he went to the kitchen.
Taylor arrived and they all had dinner together. ''I will keep you both apart from now on. Everyone off to bed. Tomorrow we all are going to visit the venue.'' Rachel said rising from the chair.
''Really? we are so curious about the venue which is a suspense since so long.'' Ben said. Jenny texted him, 'I am stuck in the hall you have taken my keys.' Ben searched his pocket and he had mistakenly taken her keys instead of his. He texted her back, 'You go in my apartment I'll be home in an hour.''
''Rachel, Tina , Taylor. Good night guys I gotta go. Your girl took all my energy today. I have none left.'' Ben laughed and others too then he quickly came out.

Ben entered the apartment and saw Jennifer lying on the sofa. He was shocked to look at her. She never dressed the way she was now. A short skirt and a deep neck top. From which her cleavage was visible. Her locks were covering her forehead. Ben sighed and tried to wake her up but gave in. He went to the room and changed his clothes. Upon his return he found Jennifer in the same position in which he had left her. He took a duvet and covered her with it. She woke up all of a sudden.
''Ah damn I fell asleep. I must go now.'' she was shocked.
''No you stay. Its your own home.'' Ben insisted. ''I'll be fine don't worry.'' she had been drinking.
''Jenny.'' he held her when she stumbled upon the door. Her fragrance was intoxicating his mind. She was beautiful. He had never looked at her that close. He quickly thrashed the thoughts which were clouding his mind. ''Stay.'' he was pleading. He couldn't resist and took her by the waist. Taking her to the wall... He looked at her and kissed her. She did not respond and held herself back. Getting away from his grip. She managed to get to the door. ''I am so..rry. I shouldn't have..'' He just had said that when Jenny faced him and kissed him. Passionately.
The keys had fallen on the floor.
